SUMMER SERVICES 2026 |
Finding a summer program that meets your child's needs can be challenging. Many traditional camps aren't designed to fully support children who require individualized accommodations and support.
Rather than a traditional clinic-based summer program, ASPIRE is excited to launch a first-of-its-kind community-based Summer Support Program for 2026.
We believe this approach provides meaningful benefits for our clients and families by supporting skill development in the environments where children naturally live, play, and learn. By shifting our focus to community-based services, families like yours have greater flexibility to select summer activities that align with your child's interests, while continuing to receive support from trained ABA professionals.
Benefits of Community-Based Summer Services
This model allows for:
- Flexibility for your family to choose summer camps or programs that best meet your child's interests and needs, including opportunities for participation with neurotypical peers if desired
- Opportunities for your child to attend camps or activities alongside their siblings or peers from their own community
- Increased generalization of skills across real-world environments such as parks, camps, and other community settings
- The ability to individualize summer experiences around specific interests (e.g., art, STEM, sports, music)
- Ongoing behavioral and skill-based support from trained staff using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Our team is available to collaborate with your family to help identify appropriate summer activities and provide individualized support to promote your child's success in these environments.
Who Would Be a Good Fit?
Participants who can participate successfully in a group setting but would benefit from additional support are ideal candidates. The presence of ASPIRE staff should enhance a child's experience rather than be required for participation in the selected community program. Because the initial assessment and authorization process is time-intensive, we prioritize families who are seeking services for the entirety of the summer to ensure continuity of care and meaningful progress.

FAQ
Q) My child attended your clinic-based Summer Program last year. Will you be offering it again this summer?
A) In previous years, ASPIRE has offered a clinic-based summer program. This year, after thoughtful consideration, we have decided not to offer a clinic-based summer program and will instead focus on delivering services in natural settings, including the home and community.
Q) I've enrolled my child in a camp. What is needed to coordinate ASPIRE's services on site?
A) Written approval from the camp confirming that a support staff member may attend is required prior to services beginning.
Q) Are services available before summer starts?
A) If schedules allow, services may begin prior to summer in order to build rapport and become familiar with your child before attending camp.
Q) Can we enroll just for part of the summer?
A) Families seeking a more consistent and higher level of support throughout the summer may be prioritized, as this allows for stronger skill development and continuity of care. We request a minimum weekly commitment of 15 hours per week.
Q) Can services continue after the summer?
A) Year-round services are often beneficial for many of our clients to promote ongoing progress and stability.
Q) My child is currently receiving services from another ABA provider. Will this be a problem?
A) We are happy to coordinate services but please note that many funding sources do not allow services to be provided by two ABA providers at the same time.
Q) We are planning to enroll in multiple camps throughout the summer with different times and locations. Can this be accommodated?
A) A consistent schedule will be developed for the duration of the summer; we are not able to accommodate schedules that fluctuate from week to week.
Q) What happens if my child is asked not to return to our chosen camp setting?
A) If your child is dismissed from or your family chooses to discontinue attending their selected camp, services will transition to the home setting. Please note that a responsible adult must be present at all times.
Q) I work during the day and my child's camp will not let her attend without accompaniment. Can ASPIRE guarantee support services during all camp hours?
A) While we will attempt to provide services for the duration of each camp day, ASPIRE is not able to serve as a substitute for childcare. Campers should be able to participate in their chosen camp independently.
